Given a choice, most people would rather avoid the most polluting forms of energy. And so, we built a campaign around this common sense notion that major US corporations would not want to be associated with some of the most polluting oil on Earth - Canadian tar sands.
By daylighting companies’ use of fuel from tar sands, we put pressure on them to shift their fuel consumption to less polluting sources.
Nineteen companies have made the commitment so far, ranging from Walgreens to Whole Foods. When some of the biggest companies in the world demand cleaner fuels, that sends a strong signal to the fossil fuel industry that change is in the air.
